DROPPER LOOP |
|
|
Form a loop in the line. Pull one side of the loop down and take it and twist it around the main. Keep the point where turns are made loose and open so twists gather equally on each side. After 8 to 10 turns, reach through the center opening and pull the remainder of the loop through. Keep your finger in this loop to keep it springing back. Pinch the loop lightly with your teeth and pull both ends of the line, making turns slide tight and gather on either side of the loop. Set the knot by moistening it and pulling lines tight. Tightening the knot will make the loop knot stand out perpendicular to the line. It is not an extremely strong knot but it is serviceable for most small salt water species where "chicken rigs" are used. |
