As data is updated between units via Northstar's N2 network, the information is stored on each individual device for redundancy in the unlikely event of unit failure. The 6000i also leverages a boat's existing technology through VGA outputs and NTSC video inputs. Plotter, sounder and radar information can be easily displayed on VGA monitors and TV sets throughout the boat, and full-motion video can be viewed right on the display units in full-screen, split-screen and picture-in-picture modes, or superimposed over navigation data.
